Performance standards

In an emergency dial 999 and ask for the police. They will contact the electrical distribution company responsible for the network in your area.

Electricity is something we all take for granted. We are taught from an early age that electricity can be dangerous, but it’s sometimes easy to forget this, particularly when the hazards it presents are not immediately visible or obvious.

SHEPD Restoring power

05 Jan 2012

Scottish Hydro Electric Power Distribution (SHEPD) engineers will continue to work late into the night and we expect less than 800 homes to be without power overnight - this number may reduce even further by the morning. These are small groups of customers in isolated and difficult to access areas across the Argyll region.

All of these customers have been contacted by SHEPD and hot food and accommodation provided where appropriate.

Engineers will begin work again at 0630 and we are confident that electricity supplies will be restored to all customers during the day tomorrow.
