Applicant and site details
Please indicate what type of quotation you would like. If you are at an early stage of purchasing a site or planning a development, we can give you an estimate of likely service costs. Please complete all sections with your contact details and information about the site where the development is to take place.
Please also complete the number of new connections required.
Please send a location plan with your application form. The plan must clearly show the position of the site. We also need site layout plans. Location and site plan guidance notes This will allow us to identify where your development is in relation to our existing network. Please make sure your plans are scaled clearly.
Load details
Please provide as much detail as possible about the electrical load required. It is advisable to ask your electrical contractor to help you complete this section. You can also check the information supplied by the manufacturer for appliances.
For domestic properties we need details of the type and size of house, type of cooking, heating and number of electric showers, total electrical load and number of phases required. For most domestic properties, a single phase supply will normally be sufficient. If you have any three phase equipment such as motors and welders, a three phase supply will be required.
For electrically heated properties we need to know the number of direct acting heaters e.g. panel heaters, fan heaters etc, the number of storage heaters and the total electrical load of each.
For commercial and industrial properties we need details of lighting, cooking and showers, where applicable. We also require details of any heating to be installed including direct acting, storage, process heating etc. Please also provide us with total electrical load and number of phases required.
For all new supply applications, please tell us who you have appointed as your electricity supplier.
If you are intending to connect motors, pumps or welding equipment, we need details of these. This is because when they start they can have an effect on other people’s electrical supply as well as your own.
For motors with a rating of greater than 0.75kW we need to know:
- the motor rating (kW)
- whether the motor requires a single or three phase supply
- how many times it will start in an hour
- motor starting method e.g. Direct on Line (DOL), Star/Delta, soft start etc.
- starting current (amps)
Welders can affect electricity supplies in the same way as motors. Therefore, we need to know:
- type of welder e.g. arc, MIG etc.
- rating of the welder (kW)
- number of welders to be connected
- number of phases
- current (amps)
This does not include small motors integrated within small domestic appliances such as vacuum cleaners, washing machines etc
To allow us to deal with your application promptly, please ensure you have completed all of the appropriate information on the application form and enclose the relevant plans.
